My Hero

Personal Hero
I really am glad to have Conner as a friend because when I am feeling down or when I am hurt he is always there when I need someone.  I would have to say that my Hero would be my best friend Connor Burke. One of the reasons that my hero is Connor is that: When our 8th grade summer started I was feeling great I had gone to the pool with my cousins and we played there for hours. It was about 12:00 in the afternoon when we got home and I just got so tired and exhausted that I fell asleep for what seemed to be 5 hours that was kind of weird I thought. The next day I woke up to find a lump on the side of my neck now I was a little frightened because it just not normal for a lump to grow on the side of a neck. So I went to my mom and dad and they thought it was weird so they took me to the clinic and I had to go get a cat scan. It turned out that my Lymph nodes were swollen well I went to the hospital in Salt Lake and had to have surgery. After the surgery I went home and slept for hours well it was about a month after my surgery that Conner called and asked if I was feeling better and I told him I was and then he asked if I could go to Price with him and his family to watch a movie I asked my parents and they said yes you can go. We got to Price and grabbed some pizza and went to the movie. Well we where about half an hour into the movie when I got really sick to my stomach and barfed all over the place. Well to make a long story short Conner and his mom didn’t care about the movie they just cared if I was okay. The good news is that they got a refund for their movie tickets.
Another story is the one where I first went to Conner’s house.  We were playing with his air soft guns and had gone to the cemetery by his house I really sucked that one up. I kept getting shot until I hid in the trenches. I had a perfect strategic position to shoot him with. I was ready for him to come around the corner when out of the blue I got shot from behind when I turned around to see how I got shot there was Conner standing above me the gun pointed at my face well I ducked my face into the ground and begged for mercy. Conner being merciful granted me mercy but I had to surrender.
Another story is when Conner went to my house and we played Medal of Honor. When Conner came over I had my play station 2 ready for us. We played Medal of Honor for hours I kept sniping him he kept shooting me with a bazooka until I got the bazooka and then I blew him up. If only I knew where he was when we started the Russian area. I was looking for the weapons so that I could switch my weapon when I realized that I was getting shot at. I hid behind a tree when I got sniped from behind. Before I came back I saw Conner’s sniper aimed right at me.
The reason why I told you theses stories is to tell you how much Conner has helped me in my life.

Heracles 13th Labor

13th Labor of Heracles
After Heracles brought Cerberus back to Hades he went back to the King and said “I am finished with all my labors I don’t need to be here.” King Eurystheus just nodded and said “Yes you may leave. But to prove you are worthy to leave you must withstand the curse of Achilles. Yes you must Bath in the river Styx and then capture and bring me one of the Sirens.” Heracles nodded and said “It will be done.”
He went back to the Underworld to talk to Hades. “Hades what are the chances I will survive bathing in the river Styx.” He asked. Hades looked at him in ah for not many would do this challenge. After a moment of silence he said “You are strong, and Achilles was strong I suppose you could survive this, but you would need to focus on one memory that would tie you to this earth and one physical area that would tie you to the earth.” Heracles knew this was something that had to be done so he set off to the river Styx.
As he descended down the path to the shore of Styx he was comforted by a spirit. The spirit asked           “What is thy name?” Heracles stuttered and said “Heracles is my name” The figure nodded and said “I am Achilles I guard this river from those who wish to follow my path.” Heracles nodded for he realized who he was. “I know who you are.” Heracles said. The spirit looked at eye brows raised “Oh so you do well then you know what kind of idiot I was, Heracles. For I know that you have come for a labor that you must do without this curse.” Heracles just looked at him and said “I don’t know what you are talking about.” The spirit of Achilles just looked at him and said “Well if I can’t stop you then I must let you do what must be done.” With that the spirit of Achilles left and Heracles left the shores and went into the water.
At first Heracles was in excruciating pain but as he moved he felt power that he had never felt before. He left the underworld and went to a sea harbor to gather information. “Excuse me sir but I was wondering if you knew where the sirens dwelt.” Heracles asked a local merchant. “Of course I know where they are.” he answered and then pointed across the river and said “They live in those cave over there but no one really goes down that side of the river because they are drawn by the Sirens song and then never seen again.” Heracles thanked the man and asked “May I borrow your boat for the after- noon.” The merchant said “What for?” Heracles answered saying “I am going to catch one of those Sirens.”
Heracles eventual got the boat and set off on his journey.  As he was crossing the water heard a strange sound that sounded like singing. As soon as he heard that he shoved candle wax in his ears and went into the sirens lair. As he went through the cavern he saw what everyone was scared of the Sirens looked like birds giant birds with woman heads. He saw that they were asleep and so he set to work getting his net ready. With the net ready he tossed it over one of the Sirens and drugged her to his boat. When he reached the other side he tossed a gold Drachma to the merchant and said while he was in ah “Thanks for the boat.” and then started his journey back to King Eurystheus. It had been 5 years since the king had saw him but here he was walking up the isle with a giant bird woman on his shoulders he was so frightened that he had a heart attack and died. Well Heracles let the bird woman go and went home because he had proven his worthiness.

Earthquake Creation Myth

Ali god of power was mad at the earth because they were not worshiping him as much as they were his wife Twyla, creator of humans. Even though he gave them fire, weapons, and pack animals. The humans were grateful and did pray to him but just weren’t as thankful as they were to the goddess who gave them life.

Ali angry for not get many prayers went to San god of the earth and asked "San as ruler of the earth please grant me some of your power." San knowing that Ali was angry with the humans told him "Ali if you will go to the Underworld and retrieve the Feather of truth and bring it to me I will give you power."

Ali accepted the challenge and started on his journey. As he crossed the land he met two serpents who had hooded heads and big poison glands. They were striking at a rat that was quivering on the ground. Ali let the serpents eat and then ask them if they were willing to become gigantic and would stay in the heavens that surrounded the earth with and endless supply of whatever animal they wanted. They agreed willingly and Ali turned them using his power into gigantic serpents and through them into the heavens.

After throwing the serpents into the heavens Ali went back on his journey and descended down a large canyon towards the underworld when he saw a hooded person walking towards him it was his wife Twyla. “Twyla what are you doing interrupting my quest?” he asked her angrily. “Nothing much my dearest husband only trying to stop you.” she said lightly. “Well I’m afraid you can’t.” as soon as he said that he turned he into a dove.

He traveled two miles more and grabbed the feather and ran as fast as he could back to San but stopped in his tracks when he saw thousands of humans armed and ready for battle. He then created a hunting falcon and sent the feather to San. When the falcon was out of sight he pulled out his sword and trusting San’s promise slammed his sword into the ground trembling started and cracks formed and the men started falling into the earth and as soon as he pulled the sword out the cracks sealed up and the trembling stopped.

He demanded that the humans would pray to them or he would send his serpents to strike the earth if they didn’t pray to him. Well the humans agreed and they prayed often but when they didn’t Ali would command his serpents to strike the earth and that’s how earthquakes occur.

Favorite Scar

My favorite scar is probably the one I got when I first started crawling. It is right between my middle finger and index finger I had hundreds all over my left hand but most of them are gone. It looks like a harry potter scar very little. I was living in Huntington when my mom left me in our front room so she could go get the vacuum to clean the floor. My parents say I was an adventuress child so it doesn’t surprise me when they told me what I did. Any way when my mom left I started crawling towards the kitchen.

Apparently my mom had broken a glass plate and it had shattered all over the kitchen floor. Well I crawled through the hall and towards the kitchen, and my mom forgot to put up the cage to block the kitchen entrances. I crawled onto the kitchen floor and started screaming. My mom ran into the kitchen scooped me up and put me in the car and drove me to the clinic. She was positive that I would need stitches because of the pieces of glass in my hand, but it turns out that I didn’t need stitches I just had to wear a thick gauze pad wrapped in tape. Well my parents took me to church the next day and they felt like horrible parents because people were staring at them with that look like you are horrible parents.
